Job Industries Expected to Grow in 2016

It’s a new year, and thus time to set fresh professional goals for yourself. Whether you’re just graduating and soon entering the job market or you already have a full-time job but want to switch careers, here are some job sectors that are expected to experience big growth in 2016. By choosing one of these fields, you can ensure profitability and job security.

Dentists will always be around, but dental assistants are becoming more crucial too. In fact, you should see this field grow by about 30 per cent over the next year, experts say. If you’ve graduated high school and you want to become a dental assistant, you’re already on the right track, but it’s recommended that you get a certification, which takes at least two years.

Database administrators are becoming more and more in-demand as companies use hardware, software, clouds, and other computer-based programs. Expect a growth of nearly 30 per cent this year. To get a job in this field, you must study computer science and earn a bachelor’s or a master’s degree, with the latter being a better bet of leading to employment.

Engineering is quite a popular job field, particularly systems software engineers and computer software engineers. This sector will become nearly 30 per cent more prominent this year. To become a software engineer, you at least need a bachelor’s degree. The more experience you have, the better.

Therapists, particularly those who specialise in family and marriage counselling, are also bigger than ever, at least 30 per cent more so. You’ll need at least a master’s degree to get into this field though, and more training or schooling is typically required.

Physical therapists are always necessary as long as people are recovering from injuries, accidents, or other incidents. The field is expected to grow by a little over 27 per cent this year. To become a physical therapist, you need to first study the field and then obtain a license in your home state.
